Vinicius Junior once again stood out in another Real Madrid victory in a Spanish Clásico against Barcelona. The Brazilian scored his team’s first goal from the penalty spot and assisted Lucas Vázquez for the second, which put things level before Jude Bellingham sealed the 3-2 win for Los Blancos in stoppage time.

All of this happened with a special spectator: NFL legend Tom Brady attended the derby at the Santiago Bernabéu, and his presence didn’t go unnoticed. Vini celebrated his first goal with the gesture of throwing a pass in honor of the legendary quarterback, who shared a moment with the Madrid squad after the final whistle.

“My favorite celebration ever but I’m biased,” wrote the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers icon in an Instagram story where he shared the Brazilian’s celebration.

Mutual respect and admiration between Brady and Real Madrid

Winner of seven Super Bowl rings and considered the greatest NFL player of all time, Brady had already shown his interest in soccer on other occasions. In addition to visiting Old Trafford to see Cristiano Ronaldo in his second spell at Manchester United, the 46-year-old became a minority owner at Birmingham City, the club where Jude Bellingham made his first steps.

“El Classico!! I’ve watched this match on television for many years and what a game it was last night. I am always grateful for moments like last night where I am able to watch others live their dream and come together as a team to accomplish lifelong goals. Being able to watch and appreciate greatness from athletes across the world is inspiring for us all,” Brady wrote on his Instagram account.

“Sports bring so many people together and gives us something to look forward to. Hope, joy, and success are emotions that make life worth living. The future is in great hands with these young superstars and I wish them the best in their pursuit of glory for their families, teams, and countries they represent. Congrats Real Madrid for a great season. And to Barcelona for such a valiant effort last night. PS We’ll hold your parking spot in Birmingham, Jude.”

Several Madrid players reacted to the post with positive comments. One of them was Vinicius, who replied, “Thank you, legend!!!” While on X (previously known as Twitter), he dedicated a post with the message “LEGEND!!!” with photos of Brady and the Merengue team.

The Brazilian forward has also shown interest in American football, with a collection of jerseys from different NFL players framed in the gym of his house. This time he was able to meet the best to ever play the game and made him enjoy an epic victory that puts Madrid just one step away from clinching the league title.
