PSV is far from the spotlight of the main European leagues, although it is having a dream season and is about to be crowned Eredivisie champion. One of the protagonists who made this possible is the Brazilian defender André Ramalho, a key player in the central defense.

The Eindhoven team is nine points ahead of Feyenoord with three games left to play in the Netherlands, so it has everything to be champion next Sunday, May 5 when it hosts Sparta Rotterdam. “It has been an incredible season with many goals and playing very nice football. Hopefully in the next game we can show everything we did this season and celebrate it with our fans,” said Ramalho.

With youth training in São Paulo, Palmeiras and Red Bull Bragantino, it was that last experience that led him at the age of 18 to go to Austria to play for the Red Bull Salzburg affiliate before making his way into the first division. “I had never played in snow before and the way of playing soccer there was different and it was not easy, but I have always had a lot of desire,” he said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper AS.

In May 2021 he arrived at PSV and knows Arne Slot, Feyenoord coach, and designated to occupy the Liverpool bench next season, very well. In this regard, he commented: “Slot is different from Jürgen Klopp in terms of football philosophy. Jürgen is more offensive and Slot cares more about the defensive part. Liverpool are right to sign him, Arne is a great coach, and he has already shown it here in the Netherlands.”
