It’s time to start a new era for the Brazilian national team. After a 2023 marked by ups and downs and instability in the coaching staff, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) trusts Dorival Júnior to set things right.

The new coach will make his debut on Saturday (23), when the Verdeamarela face England in an international friendly at Wembley, London. Although confirmation is pending, this could be Brazil’s starting lineup: Bento; Danilo, Bremer, Beraldo, Wendell; João Gomes, Lucas Paquetá, Bruno Guimarães; Raphinha, Rodrygo, Vinicius Júnior.

The new-look Brazil

Everything indicates there will be many new faces in Brazil’s first match of the year. Regardless of Dorival’s final decision, there will be a debutant in goal as Alisson, Ederson, and Weverton are not part of the squad.

The defense will also look different, with Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães injured. Another notable absence this window is Casemiro, whose place would be covered by Guimarães.

The attacking line would be composed by Barcelona and Real Madrid players, with Raphinha representing Barça while Rodrygo and Vini would do so on behalf of Los Blancos.

We’ll have to wait and see if the new coach ultimately opts for this starting eleven or if he chooses to make modifications.
