The 2024 Brasileirão season is well underway. With three rounds on the books, there’s still no dominant team in the title race. Flamengo are one of the few sides still undefeated, although they no longer enjoy a perfect record after their goalless draw against Palmeiras.

Action started on Saturday with a Fluminense’s hard-fought win over Vasco da Gama, breaking a long streak without winning derbies. On the same day, the other home teams also emerged victorious: Bragantino defeated Corinthians, Grêmio got the job done against Cuiabá, and Atlético-MG thrashed lifelong rivals Cruzeiro in the state derby.

Sunday also saw plenty of action and goals (except for the clash between Alviverde and Mengao). Vitória and Bahia shared the points in a four-goal thriller, while Athletico Paranaense beat Internacional 1-0.

Botafogo shone against Juventude in Rio to secure all three points for the second consecutive match. São Paulo, meanwhile, celebrated their first victory of the season with a 3-0 away win against Atlético Goianiense under interim coach Milton Cruz as Luis Zubeldía prepares to take over.
