Coach Tite defended the role of science in his decision during his post-game analysis, stating that it’s been integral since his playing days. “Science isn’t new to football; it’s about managing risk and strategy. The main responsibility for game decisions rests with me,” Tite said. He emphasized the importance of not overloading players to maintain their technical quality.

Addressing the frequent lineup changes this season, Tite attributed them to a packed schedule and the physical demands of recent matches. “We haven’t repeated a lineup this year due to the dense sequence of games and recovery challenges,” he explained.

Tite also referenced a popular interview with Pep Guardiola to note the scientific approach in top-level football. “If you won’t listen to me or Fábio Mahseredjian, listen to Guardiola discuss Haaland’s conditioning,” Tite urged, highlighting the practical application of science in maintaining player fitness.

Discussing the tactical challenges faced in the recent 3-0 defeat to Bolívar, Tite credited the opponent’s effective use of strategy and player movements. “Bolívar is well-coached, using their players effectively. We tried to counter with a five-man line but struggled without ball possession,” he concluded, recognizing the need for tactical adjustments during the game.
