Vitor Roque will not play for FC Barcelona next season. This is stated by the Catalan press, which says that they will seek to give him more minutes in European football and, at the same time, free up some of the expenses required by financial fair-play to enable the hiring of reinforcements.

The arrival of the Brazilian in January from Athletico Paranaense caused a revolution, with efforts against time to officially register him. However, coach Xavi gave him very few opportunities during the semester and he was relegated, especially in the most relevant games.

According to the SER network, in information replicated by local media such as Sport and Mundo Deportivo, the decision is that Tigrinho will not be part of the squad next season. The club is going through a major financial crisis and needs to free up expenses to advance transfers, with big names like Bernardo Silva and Joshua Kimmich among the options.

If this is confirmed, Barça’s intention would clash with that of Vitor Roque himself, who numerous times expressed his joy at arriving at the institution and his intention to find a place in the first team. Space that he does not have today and that caused, among other issues, that he lost the opportunity to be called up by Brazil for the 2024 Copa América.

It would also go with what the attacker’s agent, André Cury, recently pointed out, who ruled out the possibility of a loan. “Either the player stays so they can give him minutes to demonstrate or if the club decides that the player cannot stay, he is going to leave sold. There are many interested teams,” he told Radio Catalonia.
