On Wednesday (22), Flamengo negotiated the sale of 28-year-old defender Fabrício Bruno to West Ham, from England. The information is from journalists Letícia Marques and Thales Soares, from the GE website.

The negotiation will be around 15 million euros (approximately R$ 83.6 million), and Fabrício Bruno will leave Flamengo as soon as the European transfer window opens.

Tite spoke about the player’s possible departure, in the post-victory against Amazonas, in the Copa do Brasil.

Fabrício Bruno will be the sixth Brazilian to play for West Ham

  •  To date, five Brazilians have already played with the West Ham shirt, one of the most traditional clubs in London;
  • They are: left-back Emerson Palmieri, midfielders Felipe Anderson, Lucas Paquetá and Nenê, and striker Ilan;
  •  Palmieri and Paquetá are still at the Hammers and won the Europa Conference League title in the 2022-23 season;

Coach wants to keep the defender

Tite, in the post-match press conference against Amazonas, evaded the proposal, did not confirm it, but said he wants the defender on the team during the season:

“Fabrício is a great player, he is with us, we want to keep him in our work and in our daily life.”

Fabrício Bruno close to West Ham

Flamengo is negotiating and has already arranged the departure of defender Fabrício Bruno to West Ham, from England. If the sale is completed, the 28-year-old player will be transferred for around 15 million euros (R$ 83.6 million). The information is from GE.

At West Ham, Fabrício Bruno will join two other Brazilians: Lucas Paquetá, former Flamengo, and Emerson, former Chelsea and Santos. Both may be traded by the English club before the start of the season, but for now they remain on the team.

Passage through Flamengo

Arriving at Flamengo at the beginning of 2022 for R$ 15 million, Fabrício Bruno came from Bragantino after spells at Cruzeiro and Chapecoense. Initially, he spent most of the season on the bench. However, the following year, he established himself as a starter and never lost his position again.

This year, Flamengo renewed Fabrício Bruno’s contract in January. In March, he was called up for the Brazilian national team friendlies against England and Spain, taking advantage of gaps left by the cuts of other players. Fabrício Bruno took the opportunity, became a starter and played 90 minutes in both games.

Fabrício Bruno is scheduled to be a starter in the defense alongside Léo Ortiz this Wednesday, against Amazonas, in the second leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. Flamengo only needs a draw to guarantee a place in the round of 16, after winning 1-0 at the Maracanã.

Fabrício Bruno has gained notoriety for his speed on the field. In an interview, he even challenged any player in the world to a race to dispute the ball. For Flamengo, he played 113 games, scored five goals and won three titles: a Libertadores, a Copa do Brasil and a Campeonato Carioca.
