Juventus’ future coach

Thiago Motta, the former Italian national team player born in Brazil, will be the new Juventus coach. The professional was at Bologna and will take over the Turin club next season.

According to the local press, Motta’s contract with the Old Lady will be valid for three years.

Historic campaign at Bologna

Former player and young to be a coach in the elite of football, Thiago Motta is 41 years old and gained the spotlight after leading Bologna to the next edition of the Champions League, a competition the club had not competed in for 59 years.

After confirming their place in the world’s biggest club tournament, Bologna confirmed Thiago Motta’s departure after two seasons in charge of the team.

“This morning, Thiago Motta informed the club of his intention not to renew the contract with Bologna. Upon learning of the decision, the club thanks the coach for the extraordinary work done and wishes him good luck in the rest of his career,” says the Bologna note.

“In these two years, I have known a prepared and winning coach, who gave the team a brilliant game identity. The achievement of the Champions League qualification puts him and all the players in the history of our club. I would like him to stay at Bologna, but I can only thank him and his team for these wonderful seasons and wish him the best for the future,” commented Joey Saputo, president of Bologna.

Motta’s farewell will be this Friday (24), against Genoa, away from home, in the last round of the Italian Championship.
