Rodrygo raised concern by missing training at Real Madrid just five days before the crucial semifinal clash against Bayern Munich in the 2023-24 Champions League. However, coach Carlo Ancelotti later included the Brazilianin the squad list for the LaLiga match against Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian, who played a key role in the quarterfinal series against Manchester City, was not with the rest of the squad today due to flu-like symptoms, according to the Spanish press. The club will monitor his progress ahead of tomorrow’s match in San Sebastián, where a win could put Los Blancos just one more victory away from securing the title.

On Monday, the team will travel to Germany to prepare for the Champions League tie. The first leg at the Allianz Arena will be on Tuesday at 4 PM (Brasília time), with the return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu scheduled for May 8 also at 4 PM (Brasília time).

Bellingham and Mendy out

Jude Bellingham and Ferland Mendy were not included in the squad for the LaLiga fixture. The Englishman is suffering from gastroenteritis, while the Frenchman is dealing with muscle overload.

“Mendy will not travel (to San Sebastián), he is fine but I prefer him to stay and work for the Champions League,” said Ancelotti in the pre-match press conference. Fran García could start at left-back, and Éder Militão could also be in the starting eleven as the Brazilian aims to gain playing time after recovering from an ACL injury.
