In the recent match between FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad, an event in which the culés won 2-0 with goals from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, the Brazilian star of the Catalan team made the news after taking off his shirt and showing a message of support for his native country.

After scoring, Raphinha took off his shirt to show a flag of Rio Grande do Sul, an area affected by tragic floods that have claimed up to a hundred lives.

Despite the emotional nature of the message, the referee gave him a yellow card and it has recently become known that Competition fined the player and Barça financially for taking off his shirt.

The fine that Raphinha and Barça will have to pay

According to Mundo Deportivo, Raphinha has been fined 601 euros for taking off his shirt, an action considered a serious offense according to the regulations of the Spanish competition.

Barça, for its part, will have to pay close to 350 euros for this same event, generating a total debt amount of almost 1,000 euros for Raphinha’s emotional celebration, which sought to give global visibility to the tragedy that occurred in the south of Brazil. .

Likewise, the competition confirmed Raphinha’s yellow card and will not take it away, since it appears in the referee’s report as a serious foul:

“In the 90th minute, player (11) Raphael Dias Belloli was cautioned for the following reason: For taking off his shirt, while celebrating a goal. When he took it off, he was wearing another undershirt with the message ‘Pray for RS’ on a flag of the Brazilian state Rio Grande do Sul,” the referee wrote.

Despite having sent a message in good faith, LaLiga regulations harshly punish this type of celebration and Raphinha and Barça must assume responsibility by paying the fine and keeping the reprimand.
